The Town Board will have a vacancy as of September 1, 2025 with Commissioner Roe's resignation.

The rules of procedure allow the Board to pick its method of choosing a candidate to fill the unexpired term.

All candidates must be permanent residents of the Town- that is the ONLY requirement.

The Board may choose from these methods:

(1)They can offer a list of candidates and vote by ballot until one of the candidates gets a majority of the vote.  (Ballots are not secret and are available for inspection immediately following the meeting)

(2)They can make a motion/second/vote on a specific candidate.

There has been interest in BOTH methods by members of the Board.  There have also been inquiries from the Public on how that vacancy is filled.  The Manager offers no opinion on the method, nor the candidates, but will be prepared for both scenarios at the Sept 9, 2025 meeting.
