Bicycle Friendly Community

The Parks & Rec Advisory Committee is working to enhance the opportunities for safe and enjoyable bicycling within Oriental and connecting to surrounding communities and recreational areas of Pamlico County.

We are taking steps to make Oriental a "Bicycle Friendly Community", a designation awarded by the League of American Bicyclists. 

We are collecting documentation and references relating to developing Oriental's Bicycle and Pedestrian resources below.  Some are works in progress. Anyone knowing of resources or examples of communities that have done a good job of integrating both bicycling and pedestrian access throughout their communities are invited to contact committee secretary, Christie Foster, with web references, etc.
