Fishing

While commercial fishing fleets operate out of the harbor, you can enjoy recreational fishing on the water or just drop a line off the riverfront.  You can put your fishing boat in at the Wildlife Ramp on Midyette Street and try your luck, cast from the shore on South Avenue, or hire one of Oriental's experienced fishing guides to take you out and show you how much they know about where to find the local fish.  Far and away the high-point of the fishing season is the Oriental Rotary Tarpon Tournament, held in late July, which draws avid anglers and their crews from all over the East Coast.
