Paddling

It's pretty level terrain here, so the rivers and creeks are free to wander through the woods and marshes.  This is a paddler's paradise.

The creeks in and around Oriental are perfect for kayaking and canoeing.  You can use our small boat dock near the wildlife ramp on Midyette Street, the Dinghy Dock on South Water Street, or just carry your boat to the Town Beach on Neuse Street, step in and start paddling.  There are hundreds of miles of paddling trails surrounding Oriental and throughout Pamlico County making it truly one of the most beautiful locations anywhere for getting into nature.
