Civic and Non-Profit Organizations
We are very lucky to live in an area where so many volunteer to help so many in so many ways. Our local Civic and Non-profit organizations help local schools, provide scholarships, tend the sick and infirm, assist those with limited means, feed the house-bound, fight fires, man ambulances, invest in the community's infrastructure, care for homeless animals, collect area history, and make working and volunteering here such a worthwhile and rewarding experience.
When asked "what do you do with all your spare time?", most retired-heres answer "What spare time!". There are so many organizations needing volunteers, and there are so many giving and generous people who help our community in an amazing number of ways.
Then, there always seems to be something fun happening: a concert, play, movie-night at the old theater, barbecue, chicken-dinner, sailboat race, fishing tournament, art show, wine tasting, "Music Night", and so much more. "What spare time, indeed!"
