The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee is comprised of eight volunteer members from among the residents or business owners in the town of Oriental. They meet the first Tuesday of each month at 3PM at Town Hall.

Lou Mac Park

Location: 504 South Ave., Oriental, NC. 28571

Fantastic views of the Neuse River from SunRise to SunSet.  Lou Mac offers an ideal location to view water activities and wild life - from sailing to dolphins there is always something to see!  The park provides Adirondack chairs and picnic tables for viewing and eating venues.  The park can be reserved for private parties (contact the Oriental Town Hall).  Tents can be rented from the Oriental Rotary Club, http://www.orientalrotary.org, to create the perfect Wedding and Party venue.  Lou Mac Park is the ultimate relaxation destination in Oriental.

Edward D. Lupton Park

Location: 702 3rd Ave., Oriental, NC. 28571.

Beautiful park offering playground equipment for young children and toddlers.  Tennis/Pickle Ball court supports two (2) Pickle Ball courts with portable nets.  The Tennis court remains as a single court with a stationary net.  No reservations required.  Pickle Ball equipment and Tennis balls provided for play.  Covered Pavilion is available with picnic tables and BBQ grill, which can be reserved for private parties (contact the Oriental Town Hall).  The Edward D Lupton Park offers a shady area to relax and watch young and old play.

Recreation Park on Straight Road

Location: 130 Straight Road, Behind the Fire Station, Oriental, NC 28571.  Offers Swings, pavilion, grill, picnic tables, giant shaded sandbox, horseshoe pit and much more!

 

 

The Parks and Recreation team got down in the weeds again.   This time to upgrade the horseshoe pits to "Professional Grade" with the direction from Thomas Ginty of Oriental.  Mr. Ginty hopes to be the state horseshoes champion this year.  Pictured from left to right:

The horseshoe pits are located at the Recreation/Dog Park off of Straight Road.  We hope you enjoy some time there.

Dog Park Information

Location: 130 Straight Road, Behind the Fire Station, Oriental, NC 28571.  Offers enclosed areas for both small and large dogs.  A great place to let your dogs play and owners rest.  Registration of your dog is required to access the Dog Park.  Details regarding registration and the Dog Park are referenced in the attached links.
